Do other carriers offer MegaRange (HPUE)?
No, other carriers can only broadcast at a max of 0.2W. FirstNet MegaRange (1.25W) is an exclusive offering for Band 14.
Do I need specialized equipment to use FirstNet MegaRange?
Yes, HPUE is only available on the Nextivity Shield MegaFi (1 and 2) Fixed, MegaFi Mobile (1 and 2) or MegaGo (1 and 2).
What bands does FirstNet MegaRange work on?
FirstNet MegaRange works on Band 14, transmitting with 6x the power.
Nextivity Shield MegaFi Fixed, MegaFi Mobile and MegaGo will also work on other AT&T LTE bands, transmitting with standard power.
Nextivity Shield MegaFi Fixed 2, MegaFi Mobile 2 and MegaGo 2 will also work on other AT&T 5G and LTE bands, transmitting with standard power.
Does MegaRange work anywhere FirstNet has Band 14 coverage?
Yes, including all 50 states, DC, PR, USVI and U.S. territories.
Do I need any other equipment with FirstNet MegaRange?
No, you do not need any other equipment.
Nextivity SHIELD MegaFi devices (1 and 2, mobile and fixed kit) include a wireless router and external antennas. Phones connected to these Wi-Fi routers can use Wi-Fi calling to take advantage of the extended range.
Do any external antennas work with FirstNet MegaRange?
Only certain compatible antennas work with MegaRange. Nextivity SHIELD MegaFi (1 and 2, Mobile and Fixed Kit) and Nextivity SHIELD MegaGo (1 and 2) are bundled with their own antennas.
What are the differences between MegaFi 1 and MegaFi 2?
MegaFi 1 is an LTE-only AW12 MegaRange modem, with support for 1.25W on Band 14 and 0.2W on other AT&T LTE bands. It supports 1 SIM, and includes LTE/Wi-Fi 5/GPS antennas. It includes 5 Ethernet ports and LED status lights.
MegaFi 2 utilizes the Qualcomm SDX65 MegaRange modem, with support for 1.25W on Band 14 and n14 and 0.2W on other AT&T 5G and LTE bands. It supports 1 physical SIM and 1 eSIM and includes 5G/LTE/Wi-Fi 6/GPS antennas. It also has 2 PoE Ethernet ports and an LCD Screen.
